Kids Morning Practice Session (Online) + 1 In-Person Session

Support your children in maintaining a daily practice!

Have you found it challenging to encourage your children to maintain their daily yoga practices?
When supporting kids in maintaining a practice, there are few things you can do:

1) Ensure you do your own practices. If parents are not doing their practices, then kids will wonder why they need to do their own practices.
2) Have them choose a time that is conducive for them to do their practice. You can ask them, “Given your schedule, what time is best for you?” This allows them to take some ownership over their own practice.
3) If they do not have their own yoga mat, consider getting your child their own mat. Again, this would give them a feeling of ownership for their own practice.
4) Sometimes kids are unsure about certain aspects of the practice. This may show up as resistance or lack of confidence towards doing the practice. Having your child attend a guided review session would be very supportive.
5) Creating a conducive space for them to do their practices in can also be very supportive.
6) Practicing with other children is also very encouraging for kids. Kids can be inspired by others who are making progress from doing their practices daily. (We see this happen all the time in our kids guided sessions.)

These morning sessions are here to support your child in their daily practice. They are here to provide a time and place for them to do their practice with other kids before the school day begins. (Those practicing Surya Shakti can easily fit in their practice during these 35 minutes.)
