Mayurasana, or Peacock Posture, is an advanced Yogasana available for men.* Men must be comfortable holding Mandukasana, or Toad Posture, for at least a short amount of time. This pose strengthens many parts of the body and allows one to achieve an incredible amount of physical control and balance.
Mayurasana must be taught in the correct practice sequence. Thus, this session will not only be an opportunity to learn Mayurasana, but also an opportunity to have your basic and advanced asanas observed and corrected.
*This asana should NOT be practiced by women because of the damage that can be caused to their reproductive organs. This is due to the amount of pressure placed in that area.
