Yoga for Breath & Balance

This course includes practices that will focus on the free flowing movement of breath, the reduction of the breath rate, and the cleansing of the energy system. Free-flowing movement of breath is very important for all yogic practices, but especially for kriyas and pranayams. Reduction of breath rate allows one to enhance perception. Cleansing the energy system is ultimately about balancing the 2 basic nadis, or energy channels in the system. There is a connection between your breath and you mental structure. To bring balance to your thought is a very important step you need to take if you want to bring balance to your activity, to your emotion, to the results of your life, and the impact you have on other people’s lives.

Practices covered:
Jala Neti - a yogic cleansing process for the nasal passages.
Nadi Shuddhi - an energy cleansing system to bring balance and equanimity. Also helps with anxiety, headaches, and migraines. The version taught in this class is of a more powerful form than what is available through Isha’s online offering.
Bhastrika Kriya - a kriya that allows one to enhance perception through the reduction of the number of breaths taken per minute. This kriya brings the system into a very relaxed state. Beneficial for those with sinusitis, allergies, asthma, hormonal imbalances, and skin diseases.

All 3 practices help relieve symptoms of diabetes.
